Since I last posted, I've discovered a few more, unexpected uses for the iPad!
Besides the online books, emails, educational apps, Internet, etc, etc, I have found an audio books app which has hundreds of classical books, for all ages, to listen to. This was something I'd been looking for and it's so easy to use.
In the books library, I discovered a section for pdf files, which allowed me to download some digital art magazines and store them in my library. They look great and are really easy to read, on the screen.
I have, also, started using the daily planner which is a well-designed and useful tool. It has an option for setting a reminder for different activities, throughout the day, so I set it up to help me organise some sort of structure to our days. I got this idea from Natalie's tidy up alarms - thank you, Natalie! I set our timer to remind me of morning tea time, the Angelus time and tidy up times (in this house, we need several of these!). So, today, the iPad has beeped, on occasion, with a little message to remind me what time of day it is and what we should be thinking of doing - it's great for keeping on track! Now, all we need to do is teach Jordy how to read and respond to 'nap time' and our days will go really smoothly;-)

Vicki, we use timer reminders on my iphone for the Angelus, divine Mercy and other reminders all day. we haven't missed a 'time' since. the ipad sounds quite good.
I'm trying to get the sort of structure to our days that you have in yours, Leanne - I'm such a terrible drifter, at times.
And, yes, I've been quite pleased with the iPad. It has more uses than I expected and is adding some more interest to our schoolwork:)
Vicky,
My sister has an iPad and loves it. She brings it with her wherever she goes. I didn't realize before reading your post just how handy iPads can be. Thanks for the information :)
That's okay, Mary. I've had such fun, playing with the iPad that I couldn't help sharing!
God bless, Mary:)
I have times on my htc phone for all our breaks lol. I want to make sure we have the breaks and that I don't miss my coffee.
Leanne, I like your idea for timers set for the different prayer times.
I keep on seeing things that the I Pad can do and wanting one. I think we will get one for the family at Christmas time. We generally buy something that is for the whole family.
I'm good at making the coffee and then forgetting the break, Therese - there's nothing worse than a cold cup of coffee!
The children have all enjoyed the iPad. I think it would make a good family present - especially, if you buy the cable to connect it to the TV screen.
Thank you for commenting, Therese:)
